Standard Bio

Dr. Sean Vogt is an associate professor of music (tenured) at Clayton State University. He also serves as Director of Music at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Murfressboro, TN. He holds a DMA in choral conducting from Michigan State University and an MM in choral conducting from the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University.

Prior to Clayton State, Sean served as Choirmaster at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of Saint Paul & Department Chair and Associate Professor of Music (tenured) at Mount Marty College.

As an organist, Dr. Vogt has performed at national conventions of the OHS (Organ Historical Society), NCCO (National Collegiate Choral Organization), ACDA (American Choral Directors Association), as well as solo performances at The National Cathedral (D.C.), Fourth Presbyterian (Chicago), and several other national and international venues. He is often hired regionally and nationally as a collaborative keyboardist for vocalists, choirs, and instrumentalists. He worked on a doctorate in organ at the University of Iowa; MM organ – Southern Methodist University; BA – Central College; Diploma – Haarlem Internationale Zomeracademie voor Organisten (The Netherlands).
